Abstract

This article analyzes how Esmeraldas' Feeling-Thinking, a Southern epistemology that integrates emotion, territory, and art, shapes an autoethnographic narrative to understand the geographies of state abandonment and structural racism in Esmeraldas, Ecuador. Through the analysis of the poetry collection Geometría del Abandono, a result of qualitative and artivist research, poetic language is explored as a tool to map precariousness, but also to highlight the powerful geometries of community resistance and re-existence. The research concludes that literary autoethnography, anchored in sentipensamiento, offers a more holistic and situated understanding that challenges hegemonic narratives and recognizes the power of first-person oral-writing to heal, denounce, and reimagine the territory.
