Vol. 8 No. 1 (2024): JANUARY[DOI:10.37785/nw.v8n1] New Communicative Practices in a Changing World (Editorial) Article Sidebar Text Complete: PDF (Spanish) MHT (Spanish) Published: 2024-01-15 Main Article Content Paola Ulloa López Escuela Politécnica Superior Del Litoral , Escuela Politécnica Superior Del Litoral Abstract This monograph gathers some of the best papers presented at the II International Congress of Researchers in Audiovisual Communication and Information Technologies, held in 2023 at the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication of the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral, in the city of Guayaquil. The best papers of the mentioned congress were transformed into the articles that are now available to the Ñawi’s readers. They comprise a range of different critical-theoretical perspectives on the world of audiovisual communication and information technologies. The studies presented deal with different issues: an analysis of how audiovisuals can contribute to sustaining local cultural identities; a review of the different ways of contributing to the development of the Ibero-American and Ecuadorian film industry; or a reflection on the way in which political communication makes use of social networks. In this sense, and while it is true that new technologies allow us to deploy new narratives and diverse expressions online, it is also true that academic researchers innovate in their readings and interpretations of new communicative practices.
