Abstract

Abstract: The documentary production, through the history of film industry, has been see from  a duality of approaches. For one hand, as an element of a vivid representation of reality and on the other hand, with the vision that contradicts it, alluding that the reality presented in this case is matched by different points of view. Having as a base y his dual premise, the job has an object to overlap the character of the documentary as a process of reconstruction of a historic-spatial inheritance but also as a connotation of that sociocultural space of signs and meanings which are inserted in an audiovisual output of documentary style. To do so, it is studied, the case of Santiago Alvarez, a high level Latin American Cuban documentary maker who left a mark in the development of this style for the creativity of his documentary proposals.
